Bring on 2019!
Almost time for Festive Fizziness however I still have a few games of darts before I have a little break. Due to having no competitions on the BDO circuit I was able to attend Morecambe Ladies final Superleague game of 2018 against some good friends and players of Bolton.
I was extremely anxious travelling by mini bus following the recent Coach incident but my team mates kept my mind off it and within no time we had arrived. We had no hiccups with our laptop and managed to play some really good games against the current superleague Champions.
I was drawn out against a dear friend and fellow Lancashire team mate Anne Marie Millership. Our game started with some quality darts thrown by both. I felt relatively comfortable playing. However you can never take your foot off the gas against a player of Anne's ability. I had taken a smooth lead and had set myself up on a double next throw when Anne smashed a 130 checkout on bull! The high scores continued from both, and after an exciting game I came out the victor by 3 games to 1 with a nice Lady of the Match average and a point for our team to boot.
There were some closely fought games all culminating to a final game decider for the draw. Unfortunately we came out second best but were all happy with how we had played against the lady champions. We headed back home just after 10pm.
I will continue to play in local Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday leagues until the New Year arrives. I have set my goals for 2019 and I am well on my way to achieving them. I end the year nicely placed in the England rankings also. Being up there with the top 20 ladies is truly an honour.
I will be ending 2018 thinking of how much I have achieved so far but also how much more I want to achieve. I will be truly thankful to everyone who has helped and supported me. I will also be thinking about others who have their own troubles and battles to overcome to reach their goals
Merry Christmas one & All - See you in 2019!
