Darts is a funny old game but there are lots of people that love it including myself. People play for different reasons and, regardless of ability and level, more people seem to be picking up some darts & giving this game a go.
I can honestly say I am addicted to the game. If I do not play I get withdrawals. I find it torturous to hear darts hitting a board when they're not being thrown by me. Dart players learn to take the good with the bad but still go again.
The Good : I did manage to qualify for the Morecambe Mens premier league beating my final male opponent 6.2. This victory included a 15 & 16 dart leg from myself. The challenge continues as I have been drawn out against the winner of the other group. One thing I never do is give up so I will give it my all as I do in every game. Everything crossed for my next match.
I managed to defend my ladies title at the Morecambe Open sharing honors with Dave Chizzy Chisnall.
The Bad :
My efforts and achievements had been recognised by a company whom wanted to include myself and others in a Team. This company were going to provide sponsorship for the UK comps. Needless to say I was over the moon. All my efforts to find a sponsor had not been fruitless. I was so excited.
HOWEVER
Due to the instability within the BDO this company/sponsor has pulled out and will not be providing sponsorship for myself and the other selected darters. I am so thankful to all the people who have helped me this season, via County and BDO tour but needless to say I am gutted as this now means I will not be able to complete the full year on the circuit that I had dreamed of.
As per my motto, I will not give up and I will continue to play & perhaps a sponsor (no matter how big or small) will come forward and help me at the start of the 2018/19 season.
